Beetles Among Us!

IPS Engraver Beetles

By Heather Vigil - April 2, 2019

Weather patterns and our climate has great impact on the insect world and the plant material they use as food and host sources.  Over the past two years the Front Range has experienced very dry, hot, and below average precipitation conditions. While the IPS engraver beetle is a native species, they thrive under these conditions.  IPS engraver beetle can infest any branch over one inch in diameter.  We encourage any client with pines or spruce on their property to have them evaluated for overall health, as well as to be sure they are on a preventive treatment program for the IPS engraver beetle.  Your Denver Tree Care professionals are more than happy to meet with you, just contact our office to schedule an evaluation.
